Wind Band music at it’s finest this coming Sunday in the Nydeggkirche, Bern. A joint concert which will bring together the Stadtmusik Bern and Musikverein Verena Wollerau.
I’m especially looking forward to this because it combines many of my different areas of work: the Symphonic Wind Band from Wollerau, a guitar solo in Egmont (one of my very talented students is playing it!), my home town of Bern and one of my compositions, written especially for this concert!
The project symphonic wind band „Blasorchester Vivace“ appointed me condutor for this season 2023. This weekend will be our first ever concerts together. They are a great group of musicians with lots of positive energy. The rehearsals have been great and the concerts promise to be a real treat!
Highlights include how to „Train Your Dragon“ and „Jurassic Park“. One of my own compositions - Orange Blazing Clouds - is also on the programme.
Wonderful music performed by a wonderful orchestra!
Brahms Tragic Overture Op. 81 and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8.
Berne University Orchestra’s summer project, the very modestly named ‘SommerEnsemble’ with 60 players. The rehearsals are going really well and we’re all looking forward to two beautiful concerts.
Featuring film music from Star Wars, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Morricone and Aladdin. Well worth a visit this coming Saturday at 8pm. See you there!
Duo Phoenix : Flute and Guitar
With a new programme ‘Dances for Life’ we will be performing at:
Sunday 5th March 2023, 17:00 at the Pfarreizentrum St. Laurentius in Winterthur
Sunday 12th March 2023, 17:00 at the Zentrum Bruder Klaus in Kriens
Come and join us for some wonderful music by Bach, Piazzolla two of my own compositions, which will be premiered at these concerts!
This is not strictly music related but it’s still very exciting. The website has received a major update and I have been using the cold winter weather to revise my compositions so watch this space - soon they will appear here.
I hope you have fun looking around!
The traditional Winter Concert in Wollerau is going back to the roots and taking place in the beautiful catholic church.
